A former Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services, and says the lack of a national public health response to the pandemic has led to poor outcomes in the US, but he says we can still turn that around with a solid national public health approach of mandatory masks, social distancing, and contact tracing to slow the dangerous new surge in the pandemic.
